Timers and event organizers now have the ability to create and display any gender within their results leaderboards, or assign awards based off of any gender. This new functionality allows results data to display within Race Roster with any gender that a participant may identify with.
Custom genders can be created for your results through 2 different processes. You can manually create your custom genders within your results settings, or, you can upload structured results with your own custom gender data that will then automatically get added to your results settings once the upload is complete. Both processes will be covered in this article.
Follow the steps below to manually create custom genders for your results pages.
1. From your event dashboard, click on results under the apps tab from your lefthand side menu
2. From your results dashboard, click on the Gender & Sex tab from the top of the page
3. From your Gender & Sex settings, click on the customize button to create new genders that you wish to be included in your results data, or to re-order your list of custom genders.
4. From this page, you can click the add gender button to add any custom genders that may exist within your results data that is not listed as one of the default gender options. Click save once added.
Optional: Toggle the Save as new template settings ON if you wish to save your list of custom genders as a template that can be re-used for future events. Click save once you've named your template.
Your template will now be saved and usable by clicking on the apply template button and selecting your saved template.
5. From your awards section within your results settings, you can now restrict the winners of an award based off the custom gender that you just created. Any custom genders created will appear as an option to restrict for an award. (Please read our article how to create and assign awards to learn more about this process)
Alternatively, custom genders can be added to an event's gender & sex settings simply by completing a structured results upload that contains custom gender data within the file you are uploading.
Follow the steps below to create custom genders for your results pages through a structured results upload.
1. From your event dashboard, click on results under the apps tab from your lefthand side menu
2. From your results settings, create a structured race and click the import results button from the righthand side menu
3. Next, you can either copy and paste your results data from the file you're using into the text field provided, or, select import from a CSV or TSV to select the entire file. Ensure that the file you're selecting has custom gender options included within your results data, as this data will automatically get added to your sex & gender settings.
4. Match the columns from your results data to the column types displayed to ensure that your data is uploaded accurately to the results page. Click complete import once you have matched all of your columns and are ready to upload the results data.
5. After the upload is complete, your structured results will now be visible from your event's results page, and your custom genders that were included in your results upload will now display under your event's sex & gender settings within your results dashboard.
