The deferral checkbox in the participant edit modal will move the participant into a deferral list. and they will become inactive on your current participant list.
This tool is a great way to divide your participant list between Active, Inactive, and Deferral participants. Additionally, you can easily pull the list of deferred participants from a previous year and add them to the new event or send them promo codes to register!
To use the 'Deferral' tool, just follow the steps below:
1. Start by signing in to your Race Roster dashboard and select Event Organizer (top right)
2. Navigate to the top of your screen and check that the correct event is showing in the white bar
3. To the left side of your screen, you will see a menu of options for editing your event, scroll down and click Management > Participants and then select Participant List
4. The system will open up a report menu, scroll through the date and field options and make changes before hitting View Results
5. You will see a search bar open on the right above your results, type in the participant's name or email to find their registration
6. Once their name pops up, simply click Edit
7. A modal will pop up with participant info, scroll through name and address info until you see Deferral
8. Check off the little box beside Deferral
9. Scroll to the bottom and hit SUBMIT to save
Once you have some individuals on your Deferral list, you will be able to view this by going through the following steps:
1. Go to the Participant List page
2. Navigate to the top and find the heading Display
3. Use the drop down to select Deferrals
4. Scroll down and select the fields you would like to see in your report
5. Click View Results
6. This will populate a participant list with only those that have been moved to the Deferral list
